Synthesis Capital Management Pty Ltd trading as Synthesis Capital (Synthesis Capital) is the fund manager of certain early stage Australian venture capital funds (collectively, the Funds). We are committed to protecting your personal information and complying with relevant Australian privacy laws and Principles, including Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) (Privacy Act) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). Any reference to "we", "us" or "our" is a reference to Synthesis Capital.

Purpose of document
This document describes the policies and procedures that we have in place for the management and protection of personal information that we collect and hold.
What types of personal information do we collect and hold?
We collect personal information from prospective investors, investors, prospective investee companies of the Funds, investee companies of the Funds and from the public.
The types of personal information that we collect depends on the nature of your dealings with us, but usually includes your name, title, date of birth, your company, business address, email address and telephone number. It may also include further details, such as investor status, income, assets and liabilities, and any information you provide to us which are required for anti money laundering and counter terrorism financing purposes (such as identification documents).
We may also collect certain information that you provide to us (for example, through feedback or surveys).
The personal information held by us may include sensitive information where reasonably required for identity verification and compliance with applicable laws (including anti-money laundering and counter-terrorism financing requirements).
Unless otherwise permitted by law, we will not collect sensitive information about you without first obtaining your consent.
How do we collect and hold personal information?
Where it is reasonably practicable to do so, we collect personal information directly from you. However, on occasions, we may need to collect personal information from other sources such as public records and third parties.

Information associated with accessing and using the Synthesis Capital website;

In person in a meeting or interview scenario;

Third parties, for example reports relating to ownership of IP, or information collected by our anti-money laundering / know-your-customer provider; or

For what purposes do we collect, hold and use personal information?
We collect, hold and use personal information so we can establish, manage and administer the products and services provided by us or our affiliates, and comply with legal and regulatory obligations.
We may also use and disclose your information for purposes related to those mentioned above, such as assisting with your questions, arranging for services to be provided by third parties, and internal operations (such as record keeping, auditing or training). We may also share your personal information with other entities within the Synthesis Capital group, for reasonable business purposes.
From time to time, we may disclose limited personal information to our investors (including limited partners) where reasonably necessary for fund reporting, governance or compliance purposes. We may also share personal information with third party service providers including fund administrators, custodians, legal and accounting advisers, AML/KYC providers, cloud storage providers and financial institutions which transmit payments on our behalf.

If we experience a data breach that is likely to result in serious harm, we will comply with our obligations under the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme, including notifying affected individuals and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
Your rights and Access to and amendment of personal information held by us
Please read this Privacy Policy carefully. If you provide personal information to us, you understand we will collect, hold, use and disclose your personal information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
You may request access to the personal information we hold about you, or request that we change the personal information, by contacting us in the manner outlined below, subject to any applicable exceptions under the Privacy Act. Please note, in some situations, we may be legally permitted to withhold access to your personal information. If we cannot provide you with your information as requested, you will be notified as soon as reasonably possible, and we will provide you with the reasons for our refusal and any mechanism available to complain about the refusal. If we can provide access to your information in another form that still meets your needs, then we will take reasonable steps to give you such access.
